The Companions of the Order of Malta is open to all those who wish to support the Order of Malta and its work.  Since the 11th century, the Order of Malta has helped the sick, the needy and refugees regardless of religion, race or creed.

The Order’s sovereign status puts it in a privileged position to carry out humanitarian work. With permanent observer status at the UN and other international organisations and diplomatic relations with 100 countries, it is able to respond immediately to world catastrophes.

The Order’s volunteers and full-time medical personnel are working on projects in 120 countries providing emergency assistance, healthcare, training and education.
